Every year Aalborg Karneval is aided by 2000 dedicated volunteers who help create the right carnival atmosphere. Volunteers are often heads of associations, local sports clubs, boy and girl scouts and support associations, all with a common purpose: to make Aalborg Karneval unique. Being an Aalborg Karneval volunteer provides an exclusive opportunity to go behind the curtain of the biggest carnival in Northern Europe and observe the organizational machinations that make the event possible.
The volunteers handle a number of varying tasks such as setting up Kildeparken, manning the sales stands, helping the sound people, entrance ticketing, clean-up, hosting international carnival groups, arranging food provisions, furnishing signs around the city, parade guard duty, emergency aid, facilitation of traffic etc.
